Los Angeles with Kids – Downtown Area

July 10, 2011

Wondering what to do with the kids in Downtown Los Angeles? Here are three great recommendations. The stroller friendly and kid-focused Natural History Museum is a must-do. From the giant dinosaur bones to the interactive hands-on Discovery Center, it may take several trips to see everything. Check the schedule for monthly Family Fun Days. The hands-on California Science Center allows children to touch anything they want. Don’t miss the third-floor Discovery Room and World of Life if you have little ones. Older children might be more entertained by the Air and Space Gallery. It is all free, too, with the exception of the IMAX. An often passed-over, but precious Downtown gem is the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. Baker has over 3,000 puppets, many of whom will make an appearance in the shows, which occur once daily from Sunday through Friday, with an extra show on Saturday. The theater is kid friendly and everyone in the audience gets ice cream at the end of the show. Some families don’t consider Downtown Los Angeles homes when exploring area real estate. However, there is certainly no lack of things to keep them busy, entertained and learning.
